Eight 38 Sign Co is a business built on the idea that doing something you love is not work. The owners, Kyle Burke and Jarred Mathis, are great friends who one day realized that they had a few things in common: the desire to work for themselves, the desire to be free to do ministry in the name of the Lord, and a friendship that could withstand the trials of ministry and business.
Entrepreneurship is nothing new to the owners whose fathers successfully own and operate small business in Terre Haute, IN, and Hopkinsville, KY. They have been fully influenced in the traditions of strong character and business practices from two fathers who model that very well. Together, both men have weathered over fifty years of changing markets and rising gas prices, only to remain on top of their markets in their fields.
The decision to open and operate a sign company was a natural fit for Kyle and Jarred. Kyle has spent years developing his love of graphic design and marketing for his church, where he currently serves on the media team. He has also successfully marketed a gourmet coffee line prior to beginning his own company. Jarred’s experience in installation forges a great partnership with Kyle’s design abilities. His skill set is primarily defined by his ability to work with his hands. He has always excelled at jobs that require the ability to assemble, work with machinery, and see a finished product.
Kyle and Jarred deeply believe in the truths found in the Bible. They are devoting their lives to helping others realize these truths. These influence every part of them, from their roles as husbands and youth pastors to their roles as businessmen. Kyle and Jarred want prospective customers to know that they are driven by one main focus, Jesus Christ. They believe the one and only thing worth giving all efforts to is Jesus.
